The Nauvoo community hosts Oktoberfest to celebrate the German heritage of the area. The event will feature live entertainment by the by the Heidelberg German Polka Band and beer making talks. There will be plenty of German food - brats, hot dogs, beans, sauerkraut, potato salad, and desserts as well as beer, wine, and other refreshments.

Over 900 pre-1949 street rods and antique cars are expected to flood the streets of Quincy. The public is invited to view the vehicles all day Friday and Saturday in downtown Quincy, and Moorman Park on Sunday. The events also features vendors and special drives and special events each year. This is the largest “no admission charged” street rod event in the Midwest.

Quincy Preserves, Inc. conducts this annual neighborhood walking tour that features homes and buildings of architectural and historical significance. The tour highlights Quincy’s rich architectural history from the late Victorian through Mid-Twentieth century. As they tour these homes visitors will be able to follow the developing architectural and decorating trends.

A guided one hour walking tour through Woodland Cemetery passing approximately 20 grave sites, with reenactors portraying the deceased at several stops. Grave sites included are those of early settlers, prominent citizens, and civil war soldiers as well as that of John Wood, Quincy founder, Illinois' 12th governor, and donor of the 40 acre cemetery located along the Mississippi River.

This annual event is one of the largest festivals in the area and celebrates everything apple in the quaint, historic town of Barry. A parade winds through the city where local music bands and a crafts show entertain visitors. Apple pies, ice cream and strudels are all specialties.
