The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) is the first museum of contemporary interfaith art in the world. The museum, which is part of Saint Louis University, seeks to be an ongoing forum for dialogue between contemporary artists and various religious traditions as well as a place for greater understanding among various religions. Located in a spacious chapel that was used for over 35 years by Jesuits studying philosophy at Saint Louis University and then as a student dormitory. MOCRA Officially opened in 1993 in the 5,000-square-foot building and still contains its original twelve side chapels and altars, each housing a work of art.

MOCRA offers a unique, meditative setting for the display of its permanent collection. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum features changing group and solo exhibitions three times each year. These exhibitions demonstrate the range of contemporary religious and spiritual artistic expression, presenting the work of artists of regional, national and international stature.

The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art is one of three art museums on the campus of Saint Louis University. The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art, the Saint University Museum of Art, and the Cupples House are within blocks of each other and can be easily viewed in a morning or afternoon.
