History Made: St. Louis Blues Exhibit
Missouri History Museum
October 1 - 2019 - January 26, 2020
Before June 12, 2019, the St. Louis Blues were the oldest team in the NHL never to hoist the Stanley Cup. The team had gone 52 years without ever winning a Stanley Cup game, let alone a Championship. When the Blues found themselves last in the league in January 2019, many worried that history would repeat itself.
The road to the Cup wasn’t easy, but the Blues didn’t give up. When they finally defeated the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the NHL Championship, the team brought both the Stanley Cup and the spirit of “Gloria” to an entire city.
With artifacts from the historic playoff run and Stanley Cup Finals on loan from the St. Louis Blues, the History Made installation tells the story of the underdog team from middle America that took home the NHL’s highest honor and united its community in the process.
This exhibit has been organized by the Missouri History Museum in collaboration with the St. Louis Blues.
