Art Saint Louis is a not-for-profit organization that for over 25 years has worked to cultivate an appreciation for the role that visual artists play in the St. Louis area community. Art Saint Louis fulfills its mission by creating and presenting original exhibitions, educational programming and providing support services that benefit artists and the community. Their proactive efforts help artists achieve professional success and reach new audiences. The Art Saint Louis Gallery is located in downtown Saint Louis in the historic Park Pacific building, which was completed in 1929 and once served as the headquarters for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and, later, as offices for Union Pacific Railroad.
Art Saint Louis presents juried exhibits year-round in the downtown gallery and at off-site locations. These theme based exhibits feature the works of artists aged 21 and older that reside within a 200-mile radius of St. Louis. New exhibits are presented every eight weeks. Every Saturday there are some artists that are featured in the exhibit on hand to talk about their work. In addition to the Saint Louis regional exhibitions, Art Saint Louis presents its biennial "Fiber Focus" exhibition open to artists in nine Midwest regional states: Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma & Tennessee.
In addition to the gallery exhibits, the organization curates member artists' works for exhibition at various sites outside the Art Saint Louis Gallery. Current Off-Site Exhibit locations include: Arts in Transit/Metro, Café Cioccolato, Fleishman-Hillard, St. Louis Development Corporation, St. Louis RCGA, Washington University School of Medicine's Farrell Learning & Teaching Center, and World Trade Center, St. Louis.
Art Saint Louis shares its space with Catalyst Coffee Bar which features locally roasted coffee and is a good place to pick up a quick espresso drink, a bag of coffee beans and a few good bakery items.
