Come out and enjoy the start of spring at Fort Pillow State Historic Park on this annual spring hike. Meet the staff at the butterfly garden parking lot near the entrance of the park to start this four mile spring hike. The hike will be along the Chickasaw Bluff overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. From this vantage point you will be able to view the river and the bottomland hardwoods surrounding it. Make sure you bring weather appropriate clothing and footwear as well as water and hiking stick if needed. While on the way participate with the Great American Cleanup effort and pick up any litter that might be found.
Join the staff for this annual First Day Hike to kick off the New Year in a healthy fashion. Meet at the park museum to start a hike on the 5-mile Yellow Trail. There will be hot chocolate, coffee, and snacks available before the hike. Bring the proper clothing for the weather as well as footwear and water.
