DETAILS OF THIS EVENT

The annual Bethalto Homecoming tradition began as a way to honor the soldiers returning from World War I. A maple tree was planted in the area for every soldier who returned from the war, and a picnic was held for residents to congregate and socialize. Over the years, the celebration of servicemen returning from duty has evolved into a weekend-long event for local residents and visitors. Today the festivities encompass live entertainment, games, food, carnival rides, and fun for the whole family. The annual Homecoming parade will begin at 10 am on Monday at Bethalto East Elementary School and ends at the Park.
