Old Settlers Days

This annual festival is held on the banks of the Illinois River and features both Civil War and Mountain men encampments. There will demonstrations throughout the weekend including period demonstrations of soap making, blacksmithing, woodworking, flint knapping, jewelry making, and bow building.

There will be live entertainment each day from noon to 5 pm. There will be a wide variety of food to tempt everyone’s taste buds including turkey legs, strawberry shortcake, pulled pork, kabobs, homemade ice cream, buffalo burgers, egg rolls, chicken and dumplings, and karmel korn cooked in an iron kettle and much, much more. Other weekend highlights include Mountain Man Activities, a fiddle contest, artisans and traders, a quilt raffle, carriage rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, and other children’s activities.
