To celebrate the 4th of July, at noon there will be a traditional celebration with church bell ringing, Pledge of Allegiance, patriotic speeches, and music, as well as an honor salute by various local organizations. That evening the Muny Band will perform patriotic music at 7 and at dusk fireworks will explode in Ste. Genevieve’s Pere Marquette Park.

This annual event is held in honor of the Sister Cities partnership between Waterloo and Porta Westfalica, Germany. The festival is held on the Courthouse Square with plenty of food and drink. The Waterloo German Band and the Waterloo Municipal Band perform throughout the evening. A parade featuring floats and marching bands begins at 6 pm.
