FRUEHLINGSFEST

Maeystown Historic District
The annual Fruehlingsfest Antique and Garden Show takes place around the stone mill in the heart of this historic town. Fruehlingsfest features quality antique dealers from the Midwest and various nurseries selling annuals, perennials and herbs. A variety of food will be offered at Fruehlingsfest, and a creek-side wine garden, served by Ravissant Winery, will also be featured.

Schmidt Art Center, Southwestern Illinois College

The Schmidt Art Center is featuring three exhibits. John Sarra: Tone Poems: Sarra is a Senior Lecturer in Painting at Washington University in St. Louis. His paintings are influenced by travel, his experience as a woodworker, and the methodology and philosophy of Chinese gardens. Aunia Kahn: Our Forbidden Solution: From Shiloh, Illinois, Kahn portrays herself in many of her artworks. She combines digital photorgaphy, painting, and collage to create movie-like stills of elegant decadence and varied taboo. Eun Yeong Jeong: Interim: Eun Yeong Jeong is a metals artist based in Champaign, Illinois. She has studied contemporary jewelry making at Alchimia in Florence, Italy, and fine art at Kon-Kuk University in South Korea. Jeong uses organic materials including wool, wood, sand, and plants to create beautiful, delicate objects.

OPERATION W.A.V.E.

Downtown Kimmswick
Operation W.A.V.E. (We Appreciate our Veterans Event) is Kimmswick's annual salute to the nation's veterans and features WWII vehicles on display including Jeeps, Staff Vehicles and Half Tracks. The “2nd Rangers” will join-in with a Weapons and Ammunition Display, along with an encampment. Most merchants will be giving free gifts and special offers to all Veterans as their way of saying thanks.
