Description: "A French Connection": Exotic and Evocative...Let the canvas of your mind be colored by the beautiful sounds of Ravel's "Bolero," Bizet's "Carmen," and Debussy's "The Sea." Experience these works along with our Marie Stillwell concerto winner and the Alton Youth Symphony

The Alton Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra founded in 1946, consisting of professional and volunteer musicians. ASO’s concert season includes four subscription concerts, three children’s concerts for the area’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and a special holiday concert for the entire family. ASO is considered a premier orchestra in southern Illinois, often featuring local and world renowned music ensembles and soloists. The orchestra’s music director/ conductor is Maestro Shane Williams whose charismatic presence brings to life a creative musical vision of composers and styles.
