Gather in Elsah for the Annual Fall Quilt Retreat. This year's retreat will be an Open Sew from 9:30 am. to 8 pm. The retreat also includes an Elsah House Tour, Pottery Tour, meals catered by My Just Desserts (Three lunches & two dinners) and a guest speaker presentation by Debra Henninger. Debra's book, Hobo Quilts, has historic photos and wonderful vignettes from letter written by hobos of the 1930s or people who fed hobos. The letters are poignant and insightful. In addition, she has taken more than 55 hobo symbols and created original quilt blocks from them. The book also contains 20 original projects made from the hobo blocks. The program includes a catered lunch by My Just Desserts..

2008 was the beginning of a new tradition in Faust Park as the Tilles Fall Fine Arts Festival moved to the St. Louis Carousel area in Faust Park. The Historic Village continued to feature demonstrations of blacksmithing, rope making, pottery firing and other crafts with historical significance, along with games and activities for children. All structures will be open for viewing. As an added bonus, just outside the village area, Juried Fine Arts and Crafts of a more modern nature will be featured along with the artists themselves. Live music and food will be nearby.
