Held in celebration of National Fishing Week and
co-sponsored by Pere Marquette State Park, Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge, and
the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair offers fun and information for the
entire family. There is information for beginning and experienced anglers and
lots of fun activities for the kids are just part of the festivities. Fair
visitor goers will learn knot tying, fish identification, fish cleaning,
casting, and many other skills.
There will be numerous seminars at the
aquarium where experts will be speaking. There will also be seminars on water
safety, educational activities, a chance to make your own cane pole, gifts and
prizes, and lots more!
See the fish that live in the
Mississippi and Illinois Rivers in the 4,000 gallon aquarium, get your picture taken
at the blue gill pond, or talk with fishing
expert Larry Reid!
Radio Disney Road Crew 1260AM will be there from 10 am - Noon for crazy
games and awesome prizes.
Concessions will be open to purchase food or refreshments.
Free Fishing Days will also be held in observance of National Fishing and
Boating Week.
Anyone wanting to try fishing can do so without an Illinois state fishing license from
Friday, June 11 through Monday, June 14, 2010.
